2.2 SPAIN – Valenciana

THUR 6 OCT 2016

After leaving Camping Estanyet near the Ebro Delta, aiming for Aguilas, by the time we were on the A7 free motorway to the N of Valencia, the weather was much improved, so we changed plans, and went to Camping Los Pinos S of Denia, (one of our favourite campsites). We were on the beach by 3:30 pm, Alan went snorkelling, followed by a couple of canya’s at our favourite beach bar, Helios, at Les Rotes. Nice and warm in the sunshine, very nice for October, Alan could live like this! IMG_6842IMG_6843

FRI 7 OCT 2016

Breakfast outside, then onto the pebble beach opposite the campsite, warm when sheltered from the breeze. IMG_6849Snorkelling not as good, as the water was not as clear, with a lot of weed due to the wind/waves. Lunch in our favourite beach bar again, filled mussels and salad marisco (delicious!), then cycled into Denia and looked round the marina.

Jane still concerned about her infection, she checked again with a pharmacist, who told her she needed to see a doctor. The Tourist Office told us where to find an emergency clinic. Finally got some antibiotics, medical service free using EU health card, tablets €20.

SAT 8 OCT 2016

Weather cloudy, thunderstorm forecast, so decided to leave and head for Aguilas. After breakfast Alan had a chat with a chap from S Wales in a LH drive Hymer A-class, he was interested in our electric bikes, he had a Honda 125cc scooter which he kept in the garage, but said if he bought another one it would be the 95cc as it was a lot lighter. He buys his motorhomes in Belgium at campirama based in Kortrijk, he saved £15,000 on his current van, and gets a good trade-in each time. AP7 toll road past Calpe and Benidorm to Alicante, then the A7 to Lorca.
